At Legacy Hoops, we love to teach young athletes the fundamentals of basketball and “how” to play the game mentally and physically. We have a passion for development and building the knowledge of the game early. Our Junior Hoops Future Stars Basketball League will be designed to teach the younger athletes the core ins and outs of the game, how to compete, and to help kids have fun building a love for the game.
This 6-week league is designed to focus on 5-on-5 game play, preparing each athlete for future school and competitive seasons. Areas of focus will be:
- Spacing and Movement
- Proper Screening
- Pass and Cut Concepts
- Passing/Decision Making
- Defense and Competing
Our 6-week Winter Session I league will run on Sundays from December 8, 2024 to February 2, 2025 (Off Dec 29, 2024, Jan 5, 2025 and Jan 26, 2025), while our 4-week Winter Session II league will run February 23 – March 16, 2025.
Each week will be 90-minute sessions. There will be an 8:1 player to coach ratio. Each team will be coached by one of our trainers.
Winter Session I Weekly Schedule
Week 1: Open gym where we will teach details of the game while we evaluate each athlete. Internal draft and team placement after open gym. Goal is to create even-level teams.
Weeks 2-4: League play!
Weeks 5-6: Final 4 bracket play!
