This basketball camp is for boys and girls grades 4-8 as of the 2026-27 school year.
Basketball Camp Details
This camp is built to prepare young basketball players to compete, stand out, and earn a spot on travel and school basketball teams. Players will be challenged through high-intensity instruction, competitive drills, and live game situations designed to sharpen the skills, decision-making, toughness, and defensive mindset needed to succeed at tryouts.
The camp will focus on:
- Play with purpose: Learn to attack efficiently and make smart decisions within a variety of offensive sets.
- Develop a Lockdown Defensive Mentality: Build the mindset, intensity, and technique required to become a dominant defender on every possession.
- Master defensive concepts: Learn when and how to trap, help and recover, rotate, communicate, and disrupt the offense.
- Defend in any system: Develop strong man-to-man fundamentals and learn to execute a variety of zone defenses.
- Compete under pressure: Participate in intense, game-like scrimmages that force players to apply the skills and concepts taught throughout camp.
- Expand your offensive arsenal: Learn when and how to use crossovers, spin moves, post moves, pick-and-rolls, and other effective scoring tools.
- Play unselfish, intelligent basketball: Master passing, cutting, ball movement, spacing, and movement without the ball to create open looks for yourself and your teammates.
- Win the rebounding battle: Develop individual and team rebounding techniques, positioning, physicality, and pursuit.
- Embrace teamwork: Learn how communication, effort, discipline, and unselfish play can impact both ends of the court.
- Sharpen individual skills: Get focused repetitions to strengthen ball handling, shooting, finishing, and overall offensive confidence.
The goal is simple: prepare players to compete harder, play smarter, defend with an edge, and make an impact when tryouts begin.
The Preseason 5-On-5 Basketball Camp will be conducted by the professional basketball training staff of the Legacy Hoops Basketball Academy.
Player to trainer ratio will be 10:1 or less.
